Have you ever thought of giving your dog molasses? If you haven’t, you really should consider it! Molasses is a natural sweetener that is commonly made with either cane or beet sugar. Light molasses containers higher amounts of sugar so it is recommended to use dark molasses when giving it to your dog.


Molasses has some pretty great health benefits when given to your dog in moderation. Dark molasses is full of copper, magnesium, potassium, and selenium. It is especially rich in vitamin B, which helps the body digest fats as well as supporting your dog's skin and coat. Ready to learn an easy way to incorporate molasses into your dogs diet? Let's make molasses & pumpkin doggy cookies!

 

What You’ll Need: 


Baking Directions 

Start off by preheating your oven to 325 degrees. In a large mixing bowl; mix pumpkin, molasses, and water. Then into the same bowl, slowly mix in the entire package of Dog Treat Biscuit Mix. You should start to see a soft dough consistency. 


Spoon out a small amount of dough and roll it between your hands. You’re going to want to have about 1” wide dough balls. Place them on a lightly greased or parchment lined cookie sheet and flatten them slightly with a fork. Pop them in the oven for about 25-30 minutes before letting them cool completely and giving them to your dog.

Your dog is going to love these yummy molasses cookies! 

*omit the oil from the original biscuit mix recipe due to the pumpkin moisture content.
