Two Cranberry Christmas Cookie Recipes For Your Dog

You and your family might have a yearly tradition to bake Christmas cookies together. It probably takes all day and the kitchen most likely smells amazing. We know you can’t wait to have that first bite..but what about your dog? He/She wants to join in on the fun as well! Our dogs patiently sit by our side while we bake these delicious sugary treats but they can’t enjoy them. This year, add a couple special doggy Christmas cookies to your recipe book! Your dog will definitely be thanking you after tasting these amazing recipes.

We'll begin on the Naughty Side

Sweet Cranberry Christmas Cookie

  • 2 Cups - The Pet Gourmet Biscuit Mix
  • ½ Cup - Water
  • 2 TBS - Oil
  • ⅓ Cup Dried Cranberries
  • ½ Cup Yogurt Chips (melted)
  • Christmas Sprinkles
  • Parchment paper lined cookie sheets

As always, you’ll want to start out this recipe by preheating your oven to 325 degrees. Next you can begin preparing your ingredients. If you can’t find dried natural cranberries you can use fresh cranberries. Just be sure to chop them into small pieces to make it easier for your dog to eat.

Mix together the biscuit mix, water, and oil. Once that is done you can add your cranberries. When it’s fully combined use a scooper and roll the dough into 1 or 2 in balls. Lightly press them with the palm of your hand to make a flatter top. Place them on your parchment lined cookie sheets. You may also roll this dough out to ¼" and use Christmas Cookie Cutters!

Once your cookies are ready, pop them in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

While you wait for your cookies to cool off it’s time to prepare the decorations! Melt your yogurt chips in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and repeat in 1 minute intervals until fully melted. You can dip your cookies ½ way in the melted yogurt chips, drizzle it or make a small dollop on the top of each cookie. Have fun with it. Before the yogurt cools, finish your cookies with some festive Christmas sprinkles. Your dog is going to love being included in this year's Christmas cookie day!

Shimmy on over to the Nice Side

Savory Cranberry & Turkey Dinner Biscuit

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Grab your cranberries and jerky, chop them into very small pieces and set aside.

Prepare your cookie dough by adding the biscuit mix, water and oil together in a mixing bowl. Once it’s fully combined you can toss in your cranberries and turkey jerky and fold them into your mixture. Use a scooper or spoon to measure the dough and roll into a ball. Press them slightly to make a flatter top. You can also roll the dough out to ¼" and use fun cookie cutters to make even more festive biscuits.

Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown on the edges and cool before serving. This biscuit will be like a whole turkey dinner in your dog’s mouth! YUM!
