Meet Ollie — our 14-year-old half Chesapeake Bay Retriever, half Weimaraner, and full-time squirrel chaser. He might have a few gray hairs, but don’t tell him that — he still thinks he’s a puppy. Between managing life on the family farm and keeping our other dogs, Lucy and Atlas, out of mischief, Ollie has a pretty full schedule.

We keep him going with real, protein-packed treats and wholesome ingredients that give him the energy to do what he loves most — running, exploring, and staying one step ahead of every squirrel he sees.

I'm Lexie Berglund, founder of The Pet Gourmet. For more than 20 years, I've dedicated my career to the pet treat industry, helping develop innovative products, build trusted brands, and bring healthier options to dogs and their families. Along the way, I've been honored with industry recognition, including Woman of Influence awards, and have been featured in leading pet industry publications such as Pet Food Processing, Pet Age, and others.

After decades in the industry, I knew exactly what I wanted for my own dogs—and what was missing from many of the products on the market.

When I couldn't find treats that combined simple ingredients, exceptional quality, and the kind of flavor dogs genuinely love, I decided to create them myself.

That's how The Pet Gourmet was born.

Every treat we make reflects the lessons I've learned throughout my career and the standards I hold for my own dogs. We believe treats should be more than just rewards—they should be made with purpose, crafted with care, and worthy of the dogs who enjoy them.

What started with Ollie, Lucy, and Atlas on our family farm has grown into a mission to help pet parents feel good about every treat they give.
